The GS12181 is a low-power, multi-rate, serial digital retiming cable driver supporting 12G UHD-SDI. It is designed to receive 100Ω differential input signals, automatically recover the embedded clock from the digital video signal and re-time the incoming data, and transmit the re-timed signal over 75Ω coaxial cables.

The GS12182 is a low-power, multi-rate, re-timing cable driver supporting rates up to 12G UHD-SDI, inclusive of 10GbE. It is designed to receive 100Ω differential input signals, automatically recover the embedded clock from the digital video signal and re-time the incoming data, and transmit the re-timed signal over 75Ω coaxial cables. Each of the 100Ω trace inputs support up to 17dB of insertion loss.

The GS12190 is a low-power, configurable multi-rate reclocking Cable Equalizer/Cable Driver supporting rates up to 12G UHD-SDI. It can be configured to equalize or drive signals over 75Ω coaxial cable. It includes DC restoration to compensate for the DC content of SMPTE pathological test patterns. Since the GS12190 is a reclocking device, extremely low output jitter is achievable even at extended cable/trace lengths. The device supports SMPTE ST 2082-1 (12G UHD-SDI), ST2081-1 (6G UHD-SDI), ST 424 (3G SDI), ST 292-1 (HD-SDI), and ST 259 (SD-SDI) signals and is optimized for performance at 11.88Gbps. In addition to standard SMPTE rates, the device also supports reclocking of DVB-ASI at 270Mbps, and MADI at 125Mbps. Each output has highly-configurable pre-emphasis and swing controls to compensate for long trace and connector losses. Additionally, automatic and user selectable output slew rate control is provided for the Cable Driver output.

The GS2961A integrates Gennum's next-generation state-of-the-art adaptive cable equalization technology, achieving unprecedented cable lengths and jitter tolerance. It features DC restoration to compensate for the DC content of SMPTE pathological signals.

The GS2962 is an SDI transmitter, generating a SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 259M-C or DVB-ASI compliant serial digital output signal.   The integrated ClockCleaner™ allows the device to accept parallel clocks with high input jitter, and still provide a SMPTE compliant serial digital output. The device can operate in four basic user selectable modes: SMPTE mode, DVB-ASI mode, Data-Through mode, or Standby mode. In SMPTE mode, the GS2962 performs all SMPTE processing features. Both SMPTE 425M Level A and Level B formats are supported with optional conversion from Level A to Level B for 1080p 50/60 4:2:2 10-bit. In DVB-ASI mode, the device will perform 8b/10b encoding prior to transmission. In Data-Through mode, all SMPTE and DVB-ASI processing is disabled. The device can be used as a simple parallel to serial converter. The device can also operate in a lower power Standby mode. In this mode, no signal is generated at the output. The GS2962 includes a fully SMPTE-compliant cable driver for SMPTE 259M-C, SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M interfaces. It features automatic dual slew-rate selection, depending on 3G-, HD- or SD-SDI operational requirements.
